Tigres winger Javier Aquino will be the smallest player at this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
Measuring just 166 centimeters, the 28-year-old is fractionally shorter than four players who measure 167cm, including Andres Guardado, Argentine pair Manuel Lanzini and Eduardo Salvio, and Morocco’s Mbark Boussoufa.
The data was made available in an official FIFA document.
At the other end of the scale, Croatian ‘keeper Lovre Kalinic will be the tallest player in the competition, coming in at 201cm.
And the heaviest player? That title goes to Panama and Seattle Sounders center-back, Roman Torres. He weighs in at 99kg. Torres has been linked with a move to Atlas this summer, though nothing has yet materialized.
Mexico’s players are currently traveling to Denmark for their final pre-World Cup friendly. They kick-off their campaign with a game against Germany on June 17th in Moscow.
