Mexican referee César Ramos will take charge of his first match at this summer’s World Cup when Brazil face Switzerland in Rostov on Sunday.
Ramos is the only referee from the Liga MX to be involved in Russia.
The 34-year-old will be aided by two assistant referees, Marvin Torrentera and Miguel Hernandez. Both are also from Mexico.
The fourth official will be Panama’s Gabriel Victoria.
Ramos enjoys a growing reputation in the refereeing world. He was in charge for Real Madrid vs Gremio in the final of last season’s Club World Cup.
Coincidentally, the game falls on the same day as El Tri’s World Cup opener against Germany in Moscow.
The Brazil match kicks off at 1pm Central Time.
