Former Tigres midfielder Guido Pizarro is edging closer to a return to El Volcan.
Pizarro left Tigres last summer to join Spanish side Sevilla, but he has fallen out of favor with new manager Pablo Machín.
After being a regular before Christmas, he has only started a handful of games since the turn of the year.
A couple of months ago, it was rumored Tigres were battling Boca Juniors for the 28-year-old’s signature, but now it looks like the Monterrey club has won the race.
Pizarro joined Tigres in 2013 and helped Tuca’s side win two league titles and a Copa MX before leaving.
News of the player’s impending return was broken by Argentine journalist César Luis Merlo on Twitter.
