Boca Juniors wants to sign Carlos Izquierdoz from reigning Liga MX champions, Santos Laguna.
The right-back joined Santos at the start of the 2014/15 season. Since his arrival, he has been almost ever-present in the Santos defense.
During his time in Torreon, he’s won two league titles, a Copa MX, and a Campeón de Campeones.
Univision says the Santos and Boca Juniors are both keen to move forward with the deal. Boca has submitted a formal offer to the Mexican side and the only outstanding detail is the fee.
Santos wants $8 million USD for a player who it views as being integral to the club’s success over the last few years, while Boca is unwilling to pay more than $6.5 million.
If the transfer is successfully concluded, it would see Izquierdoz return to his native Argentina. He spent four years at Lanus and a season at lower-league Atlante before moving to Mexico.
