Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui will face Puebla in his first game in charge of his new club.
The friendly will be played at the Estadio Cuauhtémoc on 28th July.
According to Marca (via Mediotiempo), the plan was originally for Lopetegui to face Manchester United in his first game on 31st July in the Champions Cup, but those plans have now changed.
It’s unlikely that Madrid will field a full-strength side; many of its players are in Russia for the World Cup and will be given extra time off after the tournament.
One player that could be involved, however, is Karim Benzema. Despite scoring in the Champions League final, the striker is not part of the France squad due to an ongoing dispute with Didier Deschamps.
Lopetegui was due to take charge of Spain in the World Cup but was dramatically sacked from his role just two days before the tournament began. Spanish legend Fernando Hierro has taken over the role on a temporary basis.
