Rodolfo Pizarro has found himself embroiled in a Twitter controversy just hours after completing his move from Chivas to Monterrey.
Pizarro was sharing the customary marketing images of him posing in a Monterrey shirt. However, he accompanied his tweet with an emoji of a penguin.
Tigres fans use penguin imagery to tease and mock their cross-city rivals. It is not an official logo or mascot of the club.
Luckily for Pizarro, the Rayados fans saw the funny side of their new star’s gaffe, with some even going as far as to say they liked using the penguin as their mascot.
Unsurprisingly, Pizarro deleted the offending tweet just a few minutes later. You can see a screenshot of it below.
