Antonio Mohamed reportedly wants to sign Monterrey stars César Montes and Jonathan González for his new club, Celta Vigo.
The former Rayados boss was unveiled as the La Liga side’s new manager earlier this week.
Mohamed gave both players their Liga MX debut while in charge of the Nuevo Leon outfit.
Despite the interest from Spain, the Multimedios report says no deals will be concluded until Rayados’ new manager, Diego Alonso, finalizes his squad for next season.
If Alonso does allow the 21-year-old Montes to leave, Turco is likely to face still competition for his signature. The young star is reportedly a target for both Chivas and Ajax, though it’s known the player himself would prefer a move to Europe.
The American-born González missed out on Mexico’s World Cup squad but has been named alongside Montes in the under-21 side that’s traveled to France for next week’s Toulon Tournament.
