Former Liga MX player Jonathan Fabbro has been extradited to Argentina to face charges of child sexual abuse.
He was arrested on 20th December 2017 in Puebla, several weeks after being placed on an Interpol wanted list. The alleged crime occurred between 2012 and 2016.
The naturalized Paraguayan had two spells in Mexico, representing Dorados back in 2005 and both Chiapas and Lobos BUAP more recently.
Fabbro’s most recent club, Lobos, had already terminated his contract at the time of his arrest.
Since his capture, the Mexican government has been working through the legalities of the extradition process.
On Thursday afternoon, the process finally reached its conclusion and Fabbro was handed over to the Argentine authorities at Mexico City airport.
The 36-year-old will now face trial in Buenos Aires.
