Cruz Azul wants to sign former Real Madrid academy player, Fran Sol.
The 26-year-old spent four years in the Spanish capital between 2010 and 2014. After spells with Oviedo and Villarreal, he moved to his current side, Willem II.
Since signing for the Dutch outfit in June 2016, he’s scored 26 goals in 62 league appearances.
Sol has already been in contact with the Mexico City side and is enthused by the offer on the table.
“Truthfully, there’s a lot of interest from Cruz Azul”, he said. “The offer is good. But if I move, it will be for sporting reasons, not financial ones”. (La Aficion)
He went on to add that he would decide on his future when he returns from vacation.
Cruz Azul has been busy in the transfer market over the last few days; it has already secured the services of Pablo Aguilar, Igor Lichnovsky, and Roberto Alvarado.
Alvarado was the youngest ever player to play in Mexico’s second division. He made his debut aged just 15.
