Diego Lainez is attracting an increasing amount of attention from European sides.
According to a report on 90min, La Liga side Getafe are the latest club to show an interest.
The Madrid side currently sits seventh in the league, but are unlikely to be able to catch Villareal for a place in next season’s Europa League.
Lainez could follow countryman Oswaldo Alanís to the Spanish capital. Over the weekend it emerged that the Chivas defender was close to agreeing on a move.
Although the 17-year-old hasn’t been a regular for America in the Clausura, his stock has been steadily rising among fans and pundits. He has made three league starts this season, all of which have come in April.
Another of America’s youngsters, Edson Alvarez, has also been on European teams’ radars in recent weeks, with rumors suggesting Ajax are keen on completing a deal.
Lainez made his debut in a 1-1 draw with Leon in March 2017 under former Aguilas boss Ricardo La Volpe.
