After a humiliating 4-1 loss against Santos Laguna in the semi-finals of the Liguilla on Thursday night, Club America is clearly a club that needs reinforcements.
At the top of the club’s shopping list could be 21-year-old Atlas winger, Bryan Garnica. According to Record, Las Aguilas approached Garnica’s club to ask about the player’s availability — though a formal offer has not yet been forthcoming.
Garnica was one bright spot in an otherwise disappointing Clausura campaign for the Guadalajara side. He started all 17 league games for Los Zorros, grabbing two assists and a goal in the process.
The report claims Atlas is not against selling its prized asset, but that any offer would need to be right for both the club and the player.
Although the 2017/18 season was Garnica’s breakout year, it was his third as a professional. He made his debut back in November 2015’s Clásico Tapatío.
America is also interested in Tigres’ Lucas Zelarayan and Ismael Sosa.
