Club America wants at least $30 million USD if it is to sell midfielder Mateus Uribe this summer.
America signed Uribe for $5 million from Atlético Nacional last summer.
Rumors in the Mexican media this morning (Record) insist Piojo will only be willing to do business if Uribe heads to Europe. The club is not willing to sell the player to a fellow Liga MX side.
Uribe is widely expected to play a significant role for Colombia in the upcoming World Cup, and America hopes his performances will drive up interest in the player’s services.
Should Uribe leave for the figures being quoted, he would become the Liga MX’s most valuable export, eclipsing the $25 million that PSV paid to Pachuca for Chucky Lozano.
The 27-year-old has enjoyed a stunning debut season in Mexico, finishing as one of America’s top goalscorers in the 2017/18 campaign with 11 goals in all competitions.
America could move for Tigres’ Lucas Zelarayan if Uribe does leave.
